Over time dead skin cells get brushed of the leg and feet and a lot collect in under the sides of the toes, mainly the big toe, this can get very uncomfortable and compact and therefore cause pressure and sometimes pain like symptoms of ingrowing toe nail.
You can use an old tooth brush or one with soft bristles and brush the sides of the nails when in the bath or shower.
This helps to keep the sides of the nails cleaned out.
