Over time dead skin cells get brushed of the leg and feet and a lot collect in under the sides of the toes, mainly the big toe, this can get very uncomfortable and compact and therefore cause pressure and sometimes pain like symptoms of ingrowing toe nail. You can use an old tooth brush or one with soft bristles and brush the sides of the nails when in the bath or shower. This helps to keep the sides of the nails cleaned out.

Hello Everyone,

My name is David Smith. I joined emOcean ( Lunenburg) and operating a podiatry clinic in December of 2008, I thought I would take this opportunity to introduce myself and give you a brief insight in who I am and where I come from.

First, a little about my background. I am a 38 year old family man, my wife Janine and I have been married for 12 years and have two daughters Erin (9) and Frøya (3) and I also have a son, Lee who is 20.

I was born and raised in the small town of Sherborne in Dorset England, and lived there until I joined the Royal Navy at the age of 19. The time I spent in the Navy was a good experience and helped to make me who I am today. But when I met and married Janine we decided it was time to have a more stable life style to start our family.

After leaving the Navy I had various managerial jobs but none that really gave me the total job satisfaction I wanted, so at the age of 31 I decided to return to full time education and pursue my dreams of becoming a health professional and trained to be a podiatrist. In 2004 I graduated from Huddersfield University in Yorkshire, England with an Honours Degree in Podiatry.

My first role was consulting for Scholl Foot care clinics providing podiatric services in various locations across the UK. Shortly after this I realised another 2 of my dreams and moved to another country and set up my own podiatry clinic in Stavanger Norway. My clinic provided general foot care service, specializing in biomechanics and sports injuries, specialised insoles (Orthotics) and diabetic care.

However as much as we have loved our time in Norway the opportunity that awaits us in Canada is just too good to pass up and so here we are again my family and I on the brink of another exciting adventure which we hope will include all of you.
